`Set-ZPAgentDisplayName`

Sets the label this device or this user appears under in the portal.

Syntax

Set-ZPAgentDisplayName -Name <string> [-Scope <string>]

Description

Sets the label this device or this user appears under in the portal. The portal seeds the entry with the host or logon name, which leaves an admin staring at twenty machines called "PC" or twenty users called "kevin".

-Scope User (the default) writes HKCU and needs no elevation - it is the one setting a standard user may change about themselves. -Scope Machine writes HKLM and names the device. A name typed in the portal wins over both; the value set here then only shows up as what the client reports.

Parameters

-Name <string>: The label. Empty clears it and hands the row back to the reported name.
-Scope <string>: User (HKCU, default) or Machine (HKLM, needs elevation).
